IJsselmonde is a spacious, green neighborhood on the southeast side of Rotterdam, located near Barendrecht and Ridderkerk. It is a neighborhood where many people like to live. The neighborhood is characterized by many quiet streets and neighborhoods where single-family houses and apartments can be found alternately. Most homes were built between 1950 and 1970 and also a large part between 1980 and 1990. In indoor shopping center Keizerswaard you can enjoy shopping, even if the weather is not good. The Maasstad Hospital is nice and close by (although of course you hope not to visit it often), as is the NS railway station Lombardijen. In addition, you can easily get to another part of the city by streetcar or bus. The area is also easily accessible by car; there are direct connections to the A15 and A16 freeways.
Located along the banks of the New Maas River is the Waterside neighborhood. This is a neighborhood with modern apartments and single-family homes built, often overlooking the water!
Central to the neighborhood is the park De Twee Heuvelen. This is a green oasis where you can take beautiful walks or do sports. The Eiland van Brienenoord is also a special location where you can enjoy recreation. The Topsportcentrum Rotterdam and the Stadion Feyenoord are also located on the edge of the IJsselmonde district.
